Skenderbej Castle

My final day in Tirana i wanted to visit Skenderbej Castle. Skenderbej is the national here of Albania for stopping the Western expansion of the Ottoman empire. At the fortress there is an amazing museum of 7 levels dedicated to him.

The city of Kruja high in the mountains was an hour drive from Trina.  The city is the home of Albanian's national warrior hero, Skendberg.  He defeated the Turks multiple times and stopped the Western expansion of the Ottoman Empire in the 14th Century. His castle and museum are the focal points of the city.
